Community Awareness

New York Therapy believes community impact extends beyond simply serving the area’s children. Education and awareness are key to ensuring that our efforts can continue to grow and thrive in Nassau County, Suffolk County, and the five Boroughs of NYC.

We collaborate with local schools, daycares, hospitals, and libraries to ensure the broader community has the tools to be educated about disabilities, fostering a more inclusive world for everyone.

Additionally, we strive to create meaningful events and activities for the children we serve, promoting inclusion and helping them engage with their peers in a supportive and welcoming environment. Our annual holiday family photo event, sensory friendly trunk or treat, and end of year summer fun celebration are just some of the community experiences we offer.

Internship/Fellowship Opportunities

At New York Therapy, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of therapists who are passionate about supporting individuals with disabilities. To help build their careers, we offer a range of internship and mentorship opportunities for students pursuing Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Special Education, and Autism & Behavioral Therapies.

NYT University

A key resource New York Therapy offers to our clinical team and providers is NYT University. This program allows providers to enhance their expertise and training in their areas of focus while earning Continuing Education Credits and Professional Development hours through live and on-demand workshops. Community Support

Advocacy

In recent years, we have collaborated with local government officials in Nassau and Suffolk Counties to advocate for legislation that increases provider rates in our area, ensuring that all children receive the services they need. This is just one example of how we actively support initiatives that strengthen and sustain our provider base. Our therapists and providers are as vital to us as the children we serve—without their dedication, our mission would not be possible.

Outreach/Training

We also provide outreach and training for parents of children with disabilities. It is important to us that we support not only the children we serve but their families as well. Our services aren’t around 24/7, but the children’s needs are. Therefore, the more parents know, the more they can support their kids.

I have worked in a variety of capacities for New York Therapy. The amount of personal and professional growth I have gained in each experience have changed my life. The flexible schedule allows me to work early hours which I prefer for work-life balance. The office environment is energetic, supportive and collaborative.

Responsive and supportive supervisors. Able to create your own schedule. Opportunity to work 1:1 with students. Great pay! The supervisors are extremely supportive, if there is anything stressful that comes up, they will help you work through it. Supportive supervisors, amazing office staff, great team of people to work with. You can create your own schedule. You can work mornings, afternoons or both. You work 1:1 with your student at their home or preschool for an hour or more depending on the IEP mandate.

The schedule was flexible. The pay is fair, and there are many opportunities to learn and grow in ABA.

I worked at the Farmingdale NYTPS office for 4 years and only left because my husband and I moved. I truly enjoyed the corporate culture and everything about coming to work each day. Everyone is genuinely happy and cares about their jobs and the work that they do for children. The owner has an open door policy and sets a great example for the office. She is an excellent leader and has true care for her employees. I felt that my job made a difference helping students and this feeling was unanimously shared throughout the office. I will be hard pressed to find another job or office environment that will top this experience.
