What is Autism/Behavioral Therapy?

Autism/Behavioral Therapy is commonly accomplished using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA). It is a science involving principles that have been empirically proven to modify behaviors. By assessing the relationship between a targeted behavior (behavior you want to change) and the environment, the methods of ABA can be used to change that behavior. All interventions used in our program are empirically based, which means there is strong research behind each intervention that proves its effectiveness.

ABA-based interventions are best known for treating people with developmental disabilities, most notably autism spectrum disorders. However, applied behavior analysis contributes to a full range of areas, including treating phobias, teaching new skills, reducing problem behaviors, increasing health and safety, modifying parenting techniques, dealing with compulsive or repetitive behaviors, and improving language and quality of life.

Testimonials

From Providers

I worked at the Farmingdale NYTPS office for 4 years and only left because my husband and I moved. I truly enjoyed the corporate culture and everything about coming to work each day. Everyone is genuinely happy and cares about their jobs and the work that they do for children. The owner has an open door policy and sets a great example for the office. She is an excellent leader and has true care for her employees. I felt that my job made a difference helping students and this feeling was unanimously shared throughout the office. I will be hard pressed to find another job or office environment that will top this experience.
